The local government today announced that a new multi purpose stadium is to be constructed by the end of 2022 in Bathurst. The stadium, which is set to be used for sport and music gigs, will be named Tina Arena Arena, after Australian singer-songwriter, Tina Arena.
It is unknown as to why the arena is to be named after Arena, as she was born in Melbourne and has no known ties to Bathurst or the surrounding region. One theory is that Arena paid off the local government to have her name plastered all over the arena, as well as the naming rights. However, Arena strongly denied these allegations. “That is not true whatsoever, I’m an Arena, and Arena’s don’t take arena’s or any business surrounding arena’s lightly.”
Tina Arena’s manager, Christina Prosperina, who was born in Argentina but lives in Bosnia and Herzegovina, said that her client’s privacy should be respected throughout the naming and construction process. “Tina’s got enough on her plate at the moment, without these pesky Bathurstians poking around in her business.”
