Shaun Marsh has had a troubled time at the crease for Australia lately, so the selectors thought it would be a good plan to bring his confidence up a touch before the home summer, where he and brother Mitch will inevitably be selected, begins.
However, the plan has majorly backfired, with Shaun producing scores of 0 and 0 from his opening match of the tournament. He also put down 7 catches, and somehow missed a stumping. It seems as though luck is just not on his side at the moment. Mitch Marsh is the coach of the team, which is demeaning enough for Shaun, and he was kind enough to talk to us about Shaun’s performance in the opening game. “Yeah Shauno’s just a bit out of touch at the moment, it’ll come for him though, he got very unlucky. We can’t all average 29 with the bat and 40 with the ball in first class cricket.”
The team will be hoping for a much improved performance from Shaun in the next match – Eastern Advocate will keep readers updated with his progression throughout the tournament.
